"This report deals with the GTA’s rental market in its entirety, but to me, it was much more telling of the region’s purpose-built rental segment. The report estimates that the region will need a 164% increase in purpose-built rental units over what’s projected -- I wouldn’t say that’s necessarily surprising but it doesn’t make it any less salient."
A new report from BILD and FRPO, incorporating data from Urbanation and analysis by Finnegan Marshall, forecasts that the GTA will experience a widening shortfall of rental housing supply over the next decade.
